Organized in December, 1995, by Art Ridley, Jim McLain, Phil Fitzpatrick, Mary Ann Walsh, Nancy Simone, Tom Hoff and
Ann McMillan, the mission of the Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County is to preserve the historic integrity of selected
structures and sites in Pike County. A 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.
Past accomplishments:
* 1997 - Refurbished of and new signage for historic but forgotten Frenchtown and Union Cemeteries.
* 1998 - Designation of Milford's traditional business area (72 properties on Broad and East Harford Streets) as a National
Register Historic District.
* 1999 - Obtained Hogasco grant for Old Post Office Clock to Forest Hall.
* 1999 - Historic District highway signs installed at Rts 6 & 84, 209 & 84 and Bridge & 2006.
* 1999 - Two Milford Entrance signs installed at Kennedy Triangle and Apple Valley Triangle.
* 1999 - Launched program to install 60+ historic plaques throughout the new hisotic commercial district.
* 1999 - Development and publication of an educational Historic District Walking Tour Guide.
* 1999 - Received Upper Delaware Heritage Alliance Award.
* 2000 - Installation of third Milford Entrance Sign by Historical Society.
* 2000 - Proclamation Program launched - over thirty awards granted to date for owners in their exemplary rehabilitation
of private properties.
* 2002 - Milford Expanded Historic Distric approved - 344 residential properties.
* 2003 - Residential Plaque program initiated - around 150 owners have ordered plaques.
* 2003 - Residential "Walking Tour Guide" published.
* 2003 - Interstate Highway Atraction signs acquired and installed on west and east bound of Rt 6 and 84 interchange.
* 2003 - New trout weathervane installed on Old Jail.
* 2003 - Metz ice Plant stabilization agreement signed with National Park Service.
